And we're back!

So, it's been a while. I've missed the blogging world. And the writing world.

We've finally settled in to our new place. It's been better than I could have hoped. Things are going really well with hubby's job. The kids love living at Grandma's house. Oldest boy loves his preschool class. Little Girl started crawling. And I'm feeling like there is financial hope at the end of the tunnel. (Stupid economy.)

I'm still working on my daily schedule so that I can get back to writing. I was right in the middle of a draft that was looking pretty promising. I want to finish it in time to write a Nano-Novel. I've got some good new ideas to play with and I don't want to get into them until I've got Sleep out to betas.

In other news, I am reading. And not just reading, but reading new stuff. Usually, my reading material is almost exclusively YA or MG, with the occasional adult fantasy. I'm branching out. There's Memoirs of a Geisha, The Pelican Brief, Bourne Identity and maybe another one down the pipes. It's been good so far. I don't know that I will ever really love adult books. I'm just too big a kid at heart. I just want to be a little more diverse in my reading.

How about you, friends? What are you reading? What have you been up to since we last chatted? Hope to see you around!

Welcome back, Kayeleen! Good to hear from you! And I'm so glad you're all settling in well.

I'm currently reading THE IRON KING, and I have THE PENDERWICKS on the nightstand as well as KETURAH AND LORD DEATH, SUPERNATURALLY, and OPEN (Andre Agassi's autobiography) waiting for me at the library. Great lineup!

Welcome back! I'm so glad you're getting "settled." Good luck with finishing up that draft before NaNo!

I'm reading a huge pile of stuff right now-- AMY AND ROGER'S EPIC DETOUR, A LITTLE WANTING SONG, WILL GRAYSON WILL GRAYSON, A STEP FROM HEAVEN ... I've been reading them all at the same time, which is probably not a good idea. Must. Focus. :)

Welcome back! Glad to hear you are getting settled.

I'm reading all over the place right now. I'm reading a couple of friends' MG/YA manuscripts, WINGS by Aprilynne Pike, THE MESSENGER by Markus Zusak, and WE BEAT THE STREETS is in my reading pile as well. I'm not usually reading more than one book at any given time, but I guess that's just how it is right now!

Hey Kayeleen! Glad you're back!

I just read the "Daughter of Smoke and Bones" by Laini Taylor and it was sooo good. Mentally reworking my WIP, trying to decide how to fix its many shortcomings;)

Krista, I've been waiting to read Supernaturally. I enjoyed the first one.

Amy, you'll have to let me know how you liked Amy and Roger. I read that one just before we moved.

Liesl, sounds like me. I'm usually in the one book at a time mode, but I'm trying to branch out in genre. It's a lot less confusing and I'm enjoying several at once.

Kelly, I'm mentally going through my WIP, too. That's the only thing that has kept me from starting.

I'm so happy to hear of all the happy news. I've just emigrated to hubby's country so I'm also trying to settle. Those reads sound all to serious for someone with a proclivity for young fiction. why not try Douglas Kennedy, words are his gift and prolific love story teller, and not the romantic kind. Tempations would be a great start. In this book he made me fall in love with Egglish, seriously.
